Rick Shrum, Science and Math, received his B.A. in Biology from U.C. at San Diego and his M.A. in Neurobiology at U.C. Santa Cruz. He taught for 11 years in Waldorf schools in grades one through twelve.

Stephen Sagarin, History and Math, has an A.B. in Art History and Fine Art from Princeton University and his Ph.D. in American History from Columbia University. He is a graduate of the Garden City Waldorf School and taught sixth through twelfth grades there. He is the director of the M.S. Ed. Degree Program at Sunbridge College, Spring Valley, NY.

Winslow Eliot, English, received her B.A. from Scripps College, CA, and graduated from Michael Hall, a Waldorf school in England, with Advanced Degrees in English, Use of English, History and French. She taught seminars and workshops in creative writing in New York City, and is the author of several novels and magazine articles.

Julia Nunez, Spanish earned her B.A. in French, with a minor in Spanish, from Wichita State University, Kansas. She did graduate work in French at Middlebury College and in Spanish at Hunter College, NYC, and has studied in Morelia, Mexico. She received her Waldorf teacher training certification from Emerson College, England.

Ursula Wirth, German, is a graduate of the Munich Rudolf Steiner School. She worked as librarian and research assistant at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she also taught German for Siemens, Ltd. She was a German and English language tutor in Munich, Germany.

Krista Palmer, Physical Education, earned her B.A. in Physical Education from Wittenberg Univ., OH, and received her certificate from the Spatial Dynamics Institute. She was the Athletic Director for all high school sports at the Kimberton Waldorf School, and is a graduate of the Waldorf School of Garden City.

Mike Youmans, Math, English, and Band, received his B.A. from Harvard, his M.A. in English from Middlebury Bread Loaf/Lincoln College, Oxford, and is completing his Ph.D. in secondary education at Boston College School of Education. He has taught high school, junior college, supervised graduate students, and operated a private tutoring business, http://www.berkshiretutor.com, for nearly 20 years.

Renni Greenberg Gallagher, Educational Support, studied Special Education At City College, CCNY and earned her B.A. in Creative Arts in Education from Empire State College, SUNY. She is completing her Master's Level training in Therapeutic Education with the Gradalis Program. In addition to Educational Support work at Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School and GBWHS, she is a dancer/choreographer who has taught in colleges in the US and Europe.

Maria Fili, Administrator, has been a Waldorf parent for 13 years. In addition to operating her own dress-making business, she is on the Board of Trustees for Blue Rider Stables. She has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Great Barrington Waldorf High School.

The admissions process includes student and parent interviews, previous two years’ transcripts, a handwritten essay by the student and a personal recommendation. Financial aid is available, and grants are made on the basis of need once a child has been accepted. Parents may also choose from a variety of payment plans.
